About Us
Inspiration
Olivet Christian School’s inspiration is rooted in some of the final words Jesus spoke, recorded in the Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24 and 25. Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives and taught his disciples the signs of the end of the age (Matt. 24:3-28), His second coming (Matt. 24:29-31), and to learn the signs like that of a fig tree, and know that nobody knows the day or hour (Matt. 24:32:51), and will come like a thief in the night (Matt. 24:43). He then tells three parables depicting his imminent return; that is, the parable of the ten virgins (Matt. 25:1-13), the parable of the talents (Matt. 25:13-30), and the parable of the final judgment (Matt. 25:31-46). One learns from these parables that Christ will imminently return, and all must be ready, having faithfully cared for the talents he has entrusted to His servants. In the parable of the final Judgement, the King will tell those on his right that they faithfully fed him, gave him drink, welcomed him, clothed and visited him. The servants question their faithful service to the king, and he responds, “And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’’ (Matt. 25:40, ESV). Children with severe incidence disabilities are often considered “least.” Faithfully serving and witnessing to them is service to the ling. Olivet Christian School is a ministry that fulfills the call Jesus gave in the Olivet Discourse.
